Ron Slee

Hi, I'm Ron! I am a third-generation educator and it is easy to say that teaching and training is in my blood!

Ron’s career began in coaching and continued through his work at McGill University, where he built the foundation for the professional focus he carries forward today.

He entered the Capital Goods Industry in Canada before establishing his consulting firm, R.J. Slee and Associates, in 1980. The business relocated to the United States in 1983 and has operated globally ever since. Widely regarded as an industry expert, Ron has applied his knowledge for decades through comprehensive training and development programs.

Today, Ron delivers specialized, job‑function‑based online classes, skills assessments, seminars, and webinars through Learning Without Scars. These programs serve manufacturers, dealers, and independent businesses across the construction equipment, light industrial, on‑highway, engine, and agricultural sectors. Learning Without Scars continues the work first launched by Quest, Learning Centers in 1996, advancing training designed to strengthen dealer parts and service operations by developing qualified people who understand operational metrics and current market and best‑practice methods.

Our Team

Caroline Slee-Poulos

Caroline serves as the Curriculum Designer for Learning Without Scars and teaches AVID and English to middle school students. She is stepping into a new leadership role as her school’s rising AVID Coordinator. Helping students build lasting success is the part of teaching that brings her the greatest joy.

He served as the architect and UI designer for much of the rewritten core Dealer Management System used across the Agriculture and Construction industries. His specialty is designing and building solutions that deliver the strongest possible user experience. Ross now applies that skill set to advancing the Learning Without Scars website and supporting new initiatives, including podcasts, quarterly newsletters, and other digital resources.

Steve Johnson

Steve joined Learning Without Scars after retiring from the AED, where he expanded the number of AED‑Accredited college programs to forty and established AED Recognition of equipment programs for high schools. These programs include CAT ThinkBIG, John Deere Construction and Forestry, and Komatsu ACT technical college pathways. He also led the development of a robust online technical assessment system designed to measure students’ technical knowledge both before matriculation and at graduation.

Steve now serves as Director of Sales and Marketing for Learning Without Scars and provides extended support in social media outreach.
