Assessments
Our Comprehensive Skills Assessments are based upon an individual’s knowledge and skills within their specific job function. These assessments can be used to provide in-depth and specialized evaluations of new hires, prospective employees, as well as individuals on the job today.
Students (employees) need a way to measure what they know about what it is they do. Without this measurement, it can be nearly impossible to develop a meaningful training plan or career path for an individual. Our programs and assessments take the concept of “customers for life” to the next level — employees for life! Our goal is to help you build a meaningful future with your employees and ensure it lasts a lifetime.
How Assessments Work
With a combined experience of more than fifty years in education, training, and employee development, we have arrived at some important conclusions. These assessments are the result of in-person courses, webinars, one-to-one coaching programs, as well as our online learning platform.
Your employees are a key asset in the business you do every day. Assessments and employee development programs foster a continued circle of success for the business. We have assessments for the Parts business, the Service business, as well as Product Support Selling and Marketing.
- Recruiting: The assessments can be used in recruiting employees. In conjunction with background checks and interviews, the assessment gives you much more information on the applicants before they are hired.
- Performance Reviews: The assessments should also be used in the annual performance review with each employee.
- Wages and Salaries: The assessments can even be used as an objective foundation related to the establishment of the wages and salaries paid to the employees.
- Employee Development: The assessments have been developed to be used to create individualized employee development programs for each employee in the parts and service business teams.
- Assessment Score: Upon completion of a specific Job Function Skills Assessment the student will receive their score (0-100). This score will rank their skills based on the results we have seen from the thousands of assessments taken. These skill categories are Developing (0-50), Beginning (51-75), Intermediate (76-90) and Advanced (91-100). This category level will identify the specific class progressions to allow them to improve their skill level.
- Assessment Duration: Each assessment is limited 60-minutes to complete.
These skills assessments are only available through our online learning platform.
Operations
All Learning Without Scars classes are only available online. These learning on-demand courses focus on one specific subject at a time. Each course is offered at $149.00. Learning Without Scars does not include any affiliate links in our course content, nor do we receive a fee for any product mentions.
How Our Classes Work
Our classes are designed to offer both employees and employers something that matters: continuous improvement to the benefit of each. Too often, we hear employees talk about wanting to have a career path, but not being sure where they fit in their profession. Learning on-demand classes build and develop the professional skills an individual needs to continue to grow and make progress with your company and your industry.
Courses can be taken on a PC, a Mac, a tablet, or a smartphone. A student requires an internet connection to access all course materials. Supplemental reading for each class is available as a PDF, so a PDF reader is recommended for students using smartphones or tablets. Students will need access to speakers for video clips and audio tracks (these are optional).
Our classes are categorized by department, job function, and skill level to ensure you’re able to target the right skills. Our learning on-demand programs cover the Parts business, the Service business, and the Selling and Marketing of Product Support. A summary of our categories are as follows:
- Departments: Parts, Service, Product Support Selling, and Product Support Marketing
- Job Function: 4-6 job functions per department
- Skill Levels: 4 skill levels per job function (Developing, Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced)
- Tracks: Groups of classes based on Department, Job Function and Skill Level
Upon registration in a Learning Without Scars course, each new enrollee will receive a “welcome” email upon their enrollment. This welcome email will include a link to a video tutorial on how our classes work. This email includes the name of the course and the work it entails. The student receives an email with their login credentials and may begin their coursework on their own schedule.
With more than fifty years of combined experience teaching in the classroom, via webinars and through one-on-one coaching, our online classes have been developed to build employee mastery in their profession. We currently offer 102 different online classes. Each class typically takes 5-6 hours to complete.

Lectures
Lectures is a learning opportunity for our students, contributors, colleagues, and influencers. This follows on the success of our Job Function Assessments and Subject Specific Classes education.
The Lectures for Learners program involve lectures created by an assortment of experts from the professional and academic disciplines covering topics such as Customer Service, Operations, Selling, Leadership, Finance and Marketing.
How Our Lectures Work
Each Lectures for Learners Series will have content which offers materials that have been crafted by an outside expert. Each lecture is approximately one hour in length, followed by a brief, five-question quiz at the end. We strongly recommend our Lectures for Learners if you are looking to expand your knowledge in your field.

Centers of Excellence Track – Our educational products are delivered through technical post-secondary schools who have partnered with us and become an LWS Centers of Excellence (COE). Each authorized COE delivers the full spectrum of online LWS products in their assigned multi-state/province territories. The COEs are experts in offering educational alternatives that meet the needs of people through high quality workforce development educational programs.
